Our Infant and Toddler Program is full-time only and structured for children 6 -36 months old by our Infant and Toddler Specialists in each classroom. We offer a play based curriculum with emergent programming so each child is able to pick their interests and enjoy what they choose. If we are excited about music today we will focus on that! The infant and Toddler room has a 1:4 ratio of educators to children. They tailor their schedule to include choosing between 1-2 rest times to recharge for play time. We are an all weather center focusing on going outside twice a day in all weather conditions. Puddles, stroller rides and our fantastic play yards are a large part of our programming at this stage in each child's development.
We focus on experimenting with sensory experiences, allowing infants and toddlers to explore and satisfy their curiosity with everything from water tables, rice buckets and pudding painting.
As a child develops from 17 months and up, we move the infants into the toddler room where their experiences prepare them more for the preschool readiness program. Here we are focusing on independent feeding, self soothing techniques at nap time and cooperative play based learning.
Preschool teachers also come up for the occasional hello to meet and greet their new friends so the transition to the preschool is smooth and familiar. We look forward to having your child start the first journey in their development in the Infant and Toddler Rooms.
The daily schedule in our Infant and Toddler room is just a guide at this stage. With these rooms the children need to be fed, changed and napped on demand, but as each child grows older we work on getting more inclusive to a group schedule.
